More than 300 rockets have been fired into Israel since the temporary ceasefire with Hamas was broken on Tuesday, August 19, 2014.
Today, August 22, 2014, a rocket was fired and hit a synagogue in Ashdod injuring 3 people and shocking dozens during Shabbat services.
During the first few weeks of the conflict in Israel, the Stop the Sirens campaign was developed to address the immediate needs of the most vulnerable Israelis directly affected by this crisis. Over the last two weeks, ceasefires were put in place and the focus turned to helping individuals and communities get back on their feet.
As rocket fire resumes again, NOW MORE THAN EVER our brothers and sisters in Israel need our help!
The funds donated to the Stop the Sirens campaign will continue to not only address the needs of the most at-risk Israelis but will also directly address some of the long-term effects on those who have been living under fire - the first responders who have been working around the clock on the front lines and the people and communities they've been helping who need assistance rebounding and rebuilding - and outfit our partner agencies to be able to provide services for these groups between now and the High Holidays.
