JERUSALEM (JTA)  — A Palestinian man died a week after being shot during clashes with Israeli soldiers in the West Bank.

Ali Mahmoud Safi, 20, succumbed on Wednesday after being in a coma for a week, the Palestinian Maan news agency reported. He was shot in the chest on March 18 during a protest at a refugee camp near Ramallah.

Palestinian officials said Safi had been hit with live fire. The Israeli army said it had used crowd dispersal methods, including rubber bullets, and that Safi had been hit with a rubber bullet.

Also Wednesday, another Palestinian man died days after falling while trying to climb over the security wall, according to Maan. The news agency reported that he likely was trying to get to work inside Israel and did not have a permit.
