The Sea Strikes Back:  Moshe vs. The Red Sea


The splitting of the Red Sea is one of the most powerful and striking images of Passover.  But did the sea really split at Moshe's command?  We will explore two ancient commentaries on this miracle that raise important questions that persist today about our relationship with nature.

Rabbi Micah Peltz is the Associate Rabbi at Temple Beth Sholom.  He grew up in Minneapolis, and received a BA from the University of Michigan.  He was ordained at the Jewish Theological Seminary of American, and also earned a Masters in Jewish Education from the William Davidson School of Education at JTS.
