Rabbi Jordan Gendra

President: Debbi Ret

Congregation B'nai Tikvah-Beth Israel's founding families dreamed that this synagogue would be a place where we would live comfortably among one another, regardless of our Jewish origins, knowledge, or way of life. They dreamed of a community where we could learn from one another; a place where the science-oriented, the dreamer, the idealist, the rationalist, and the mystic could gather to share ideas and enrich and refresh our Jewish traditions.

Congregation B'nai Tikvah-Beth Israel has fulfilled its founders' dreams. It is a place where we come to reflect, learn, study, ans enjoy life's joyous milestones as well as its sorrows. We create a welcoming environment, respecting and honoring diversity. Our weekly egalitarian services use an easy-to-follow siddur with English translations and transliteration. We balance traditional sources with contemporary readings and ideas, and we engage in Torah conversations that incorporate current events to make them relevant. We have an active youth group, adult education programs, sisterhood, men's club, and a choir. Our religious school is supported by an active PTO.

Our synagogue is also a place where we can ask questions: Why are we here? How can we live meaningful lives? Sometimes our questions have answers...more often, our questions lead to more questions.

Please feel free to stop by, join a service, and see what we're all about. Rabbi Jordan Gendra is the spiritual leader of Congregation B'nai Tikvah-Beth Israel, a warm and welcoming community serving Gloucester County and surrounding areas.
