The Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey (JFSNJ) is an organization that cherishes, embraces, and services the entirety of the Jewish community.
The Jewish Community Voice, a publication of JFSNJ, is a bi-weekly printed newspaper that publishes news that informs our community about what’s happening in Jewish South Jersey, nationally and around the world. JFSNJ and the Voice encourage civil discourse, embrace differences of opinions and are steadfast in the goal of promoting unity amongst our Jewish community. Now more than ever, this is a time in which we must work together and support our Jewish community.
In the September 18 issue of the Voice, a paid advertisement created and purchased was published, in which the individual’s strong views about a presidential candidate were expressed, particularly positioning the candidates’ supporters as Holocaust enablers.
We recognize and regret that the inclusion of this ad’s rhetoric have caused pain and disruption in our community. This paid advertisement does not reflect the views of the Voice and/or JFSNJ. Hateful rhetoric has no place in the pages of our community’s newspaper. We are committed to learning from this experience and moving into the future with better defined policies around content and advertising.
Prior to the next issue of the Voice on October 2, 2024, we will be reviewing and adapting a revised advertising policy with the JFSNJ Board of Directors, which will be communicated with the community.
As always, we encourage our community members to submit their viewpoints on various national and international affairs to our Editor via Op-Ed.
Wishing our entire community a Shana Tova filled with peace and prosperity.
