Support Israel
Our Community Supports and Advocates for Israel
The Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey and our family of agencies is deeply rooted in support for the people, places, culture, vibrant communities and opportunities that exist in our beloved State of Israel. We provide meaningful opportunities for individuals to build connections. From volunteer opportunities right here at home in South Jersey and experiences that include traveling abroad, together we can continue our mission to support Israel.
Global Connections Area of Impact
All programs and services JFSNJ provides are identified within one or more of our five Areas of Impact. Our Global Connections Area of Impact defines our commitment to Jewish communities in Israel and around the world.
Each year, JFSNJ allocates over $500,000 to many important causes and movements.

Support for Israel During Current Events
The Federation maintains relationships with partners in Israel and works with the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) regarding developments affecting Israel and the Middle East.
JFNA’s current multi-year framework, Rebuild Israel, to support Israel’s recovery and help Israeli society flourish in the aftermath of October 7 and two years of war.
We work closely with our advocacy agency, the Jewish Community Relations Council of Southern New Jersey, to provide many types of programs and opportunities for involvement. From classes to speakers and films, there are many ways to learn and engage about Israel.
Israeli Emissaries
In partnership with the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI), JFSNJ has a long history of bringing Israeli Emissaries to engage with the broader community as well as in schools and synagogues in the region. These high school graduates choose to defer their military service for a year of service abroad.
Israel Advocacy Initiative (IAI)
This JCRC initiative coordinates, educates, and organizes local pro-Israel advocacy efforts and serves as a community resource regarding Israel-related issues.
Community-wide Celebrations
Each year, JCRC hosts the yearly commemorations of Israel’s Remembrance Day (Yom Hakiron) and Holocaust Memorial Day (Yom HaShoah). JFSNJ also hosts and partners with community organizations for the annual Israel Independence Day (Yom HaAtzmaut) and October 7th Commemorations.
